Uncanny Valley/ Neues Label und erstes Release

Mit Uncanny Valley gibt es in Dresden ein neues, ambitioniertes Labelprojekt, das House zwar als Basis begreift, seine Fühler aber auch in Richtung Techno, Disco und Dubstep ausstreckt. Mehr noch, das Label dient als Kommunikationsplattform, die sowohl die jungen Talente als auch die alten Hasen in der Elbestadt zum gegenseitigen Ideenaustausch nutzen.

Kennen und schätzen gelernt hat man sich bei gemeinsam verbrachten Nächten in lokalen Clubs wie dem Alten Wettbüro oder der Galerie Disko und beim Musik hören im bestsortiertesten Plattenladen der Stadt, dem Fat Fenders. Dort reifte auch der Plan, das zweifellos vorhandene Potential in Dresden unter dem Uncanny Valley-Banner zu bündeln.

Platte Nummer Eins ist eine reine House-Angelegenheit. Thomas Fröhlichs’ „Get US“ eröffnet geheimnisvoll und packend mit wunderschön-gezupften Streichern für Tänzeleien unter freiem Himmel. Danach bittet Jacob Korn ins Spielzimmer. Sein „Slamduck“ ist das Überraschungsei auf der Platte und mit seinen verwegenen Klangspielereien über einem strammen Beat genauso verspielt wie mitreißend.
Die B-Seite eröffnet Breakz-Schelm Cuthead mit der für ihn ungewohnt verträumten Deephouse-Studie „Unacceptable Mustache Styles“, bevor Break SL in seinen unnachahmlichen Jam-Modus übergeht und die Platte in gedämpftem Licht nach Hause fährt.

The first release is a true house-affair. Thomas Fröhlich’s ‘Get US’ is a mysterious and breathtaking opener with beautifully plucked strings making for a perfect soundtrack to your summer. After that Jacob Korn invites us to his playroom with the surprise track on this record that combines intricate soundscapes built on an uplifting groove.
On the B-Side breaks-prankster Cuthead unleashes an unusual deep house study entitled ‘Unacceptable Moustache Styles’ before the record concludes gracefully with Break SL’s late night jam ‘Low Light’.

Martyn: what a great EP really like the Jacob Korn track and the Thomas Frohlich one.. but the b-side is great too!! .. lemme know when these hit the shops cos would love to pick up a vinyl copy of it..
